材料科学英才班招生通知

  各位老师、同学:

  材料科学英才班面向全校招生,该班是在国家教委和中国科学院支持下,由中国科学院(沈阳)金属所(即沈阳材料科学国家(联合)实验室)和我校化学与材料科学学院共同主办的教学试点班。2010级英才班于明年春季开班,在材料系上课一学期。

  

  1.招生对象:全校大三本科生(通常是具有化学课程基础或兴趣爱好的07级本科生)。

  1、杨锐,男,研究员,副所长

  报告题目:传统材料与国家需求:科研工作的点滴体会

  报告人简介:

  杨锐,1965年生,湖北人,1980年入武汉水利电力学院机械工程系学习,1992年于剑桥大学材料科学与冶金学系获博士学位。1992年至1995年任剑桥大学圣约翰学院Title A Research Fellow,1995年起任中国科学院金属研究所研究员(1995-),钛合金研究室主任(1997-),副所长(2001-)。他最近15年的研究工作集中于钛基结构材料,在新型钛合金、钛-铝系金属间化合物和钛基复合材料等方面开展了持续的研究。

  杨锐博士曾获“国防科技工业突出贡献中青年专家”称号,现任总装备部先进材料技术专业组成员和国防科工局科技委委员。他的研究组于2007 年入选国防科工委首批“国防科技创新团队”。

  杨锐博士先后担任973 计划“材料计算设计与性能预测基础问题”和“面向性能的材料集成设计的科学基础问题”项目首席科学家,2000-2006年间先后担任[Intermetallics]期刊Associate Editor和Editor,2004年至今担任[Scripta Materialia]期刊Deputy Editor。

  2、周延春,男,研究员,博士生导师

  报告题目:如何设计和寻找耐高温、不脆的层状陶瓷

  报告人简介:

  Dr. Yanchun Zhou obtained his B. S. of ceramics from Tsinghua Univerisity in 1985, M.S. of ceramics in 1988 and Ph.D of metallic materials and heat treatment in 1991,both from Institute of Metal Research, Chinese Academy of Sciences. Before joining IMR, he worked as a visiting scientist in Institute of Strength Physics and Materials, Russian Academy of Sciences during March to July 1991, and a post-doctoral associate at Material Research Center, University of Missouri-Rolla during 1992-1994. He was promoted an associate professor in 1993 and a full professor in 1994. He is now a professor and director of High-performance Ceramic Division, Shenyang National Laboratory for Materials Science; vice-chairman of Academic Committee of Institute of Metal Research, Chinese Academy of Sciences;Chairman of the International Committee of Engineering Ceramic Division, the American Ceramic Society; and Academician of the World Academy of Ceramics.

  His main research interests include design, processing, multi-scale structure-property relationship of ceramics and composites.

  Dr. Zhou has published more than 270 scientific papers in peer-reviewed international journals such as J. Am. Ceram. Soc., J. Europ. Ceram. Soc., Acta Mater., J. Mater. Res., Appl. Phys. Lett., Phys. Rev. B, Chem. Mater., J. Appl. Phys., J. Phys. Conden. Matter., Z. Metallkd., J. Mater. Chem., Mater. Res. Innovat. et al and given more than 30 invited talks in international conferences and workshops. His papers were highly cited. He holds 30 Chinese patents.

  He served as Exucutive Vice Editor-in-Chief of Journal of Materials Science & Technology, Associate Editor if Journal of the American Ceramic Society, Associate Editor of International Journal of Applied Ceramic Technology. He also served as symposium chair or co-organizer as well as international advisory committee members in a number of international conferences.

  He was awarded a number of prizes and honors including “Special prize for outstanding graduate student from the president of CAS” in 1991, top prize of the “Technological Achievement” from CAS in 1998, third prize of “Natural Science” from CAS in 1999, “National outstanding young scientist foundation award” in 1999, the second prize of “Technical Invention” from CAS in 2001, and the top prize of Natural Science from Liaoning Province in 2005, Academician, World Academy of Ceramics, 2009.

  3、徐坚,男,研究员,博士生导师

  报告题目: 如何发现大尺寸金属玻璃

  报告人简介:

  徐坚,研究员。博士生导师。1982年毕业于大连工学院金属学及热处理专业,获工学学士学位。先后在美国伊利诺大学、路易斯安那州立大学、密西根大学、德国马普金属研究所进行访问研究。1998年起任中国科学院金属研究所研究员,从事金属玻璃的研究。

  作为主要完成者曾获中国科学院自然科学二等奖、中国科学院科技进步三等奖各1项。在《自然-材料》、《美国材料研究学会会刊》、《应用物理快报》等国际学术期刊发表论文78篇。获得国家发明专利7项。作为项目负责人先后承担国家自然科学基金研究项目6项,国家重大基础研究计划项目1项。2006年获中国科学院院研究生院优秀教师荣誉称号。他指导的研究生2人获得“德国洪堡奖学金”博士后奖学金资助,1人的博士论文荣获“全国优秀博士论文”,2人荣获“中国科学院院长奖学金”优秀奖,1人荣获“辽宁省优秀硕士学位论文奖”。
