摘要 |
Chemical engineering is a discipline that harnesses the knowledge of physical science (e.g. chemistry and physics), and life sciences (e.g. biology, microbiology and biochemistry) with mathematics and economics, to develop the processes of converting raw materials into valuable products. Modern chemical engineering has been focusing more and more on development of new functional products for various applications e.g. in imaging and printing, agrochemical, food and feed, pharmaceutical and medical, consumer care and household industries. Development of such products requires research in the interdisciplinary areas, and collaboration of scientists and engineers with different knowledge, skills and expertise. |

报告人简介:⑴现在工作单位及职称 ⑵主要研究方向 ⑶学术成就简述(100字以内) Professor Zhibing Zhang isDeputy Head inSchool of Chemical Engineering, University of Birmingham, Edgbaston, Birmingham B15 2TT, United Kingdom. He got his bachelor degree in Chemical Engineering from Hefei University of Technology in 1982, and Ph. D from East China University of Science and Technology in 1988. After he joined in School of Chemical Engineering, University of Birmingham in 1990 for his research fellow Studies. His major research interests: Formulation of micro- and nano- particles: microencapsulation, bioencapsulation, stabilisation and controlled delivery, Mechanical characterisation of micro-/nanoparticles, Manufacture and preservation of probiotics and neutraceuticals. He has published 115 papers in Chemical Engineering Science, Advanced Materials Research, Langmuir, etc, filed 2 patents. | |
