The 1st Graduate Symposium on Chemistry and Materials Science at USTC
中国科大第一届化学与材料科学研究生英文学术年会将于2015年11月28日至29日举办,为期两天。现将会议有关事项通知如下,欢迎各位老师以及同学参与交流。
1.会议交流形式:
主要分为大会报告和分会场报告两种形式,并制作展板对优秀的化学成果进行展览。
本次学术年会设置分会场4个,分会场报告为我校在读研究生(博士研究生与硕士研究生)口头报告。
2.大会报告特邀嘉宾简介:
Zhaoxiang Deng
Professor, Department of Chemistry, USTC
Chinese Chemical Society Award for Outstanding Young Chemist
National Natural Science Funds for Distinguished Young Scholar Hundred-Talent Program of The Chinese Academy of Sciences
Prof. Deng’s research is highly interdisciplinary, which covers physical and analytical aspects of chemistry, bio-nanotechnology, material sciences, and even more. They are also interested in using bio-inspired processes and electrochemical approaches to develop new tools for nanotechnological applications. Finally, their research efforts are directed toward probing the basic physics and chemistry of nano-structured interfaces. Zhaoxiang Deng has authored or coauthored over 50 papers on peer-reviewed journals spanning the areas of DNA nanotechnology, inorganic nanostructures and electrochemistry.
Yan Yu
Professor, Department of Materials Science and Engineering, USTC
The Thousand Talents Plan of The Chinese Academy of Sciences

Prof. Yu’s research is mainly focused on nanomaterials and clean energy. Specifically, the research activities include synthesis of 1D nanomaterials, porous thin films, and nanoparticles as well as their applications. Furthermore, her group also investigates the fundamental science of energy storage system and develop novel nanomaterials for energy systems and devices. Dr. Yu has authored or coauthored over 60 papers on peer-reviewed journals,such as J. Am. Chem. Soc., Angew. Chem. Int. Ed., Adv. Mater. Nano Lett. and so on, which are cited 2000 times by others. So far, Dr. Yu has won three international patents and two patents of China.
Xiang Shao
Professor, Department of Chemical Physics, USTC
The Thousand Talents Plan of The Chinese Academy of Sciences
Prof. Shao’s research is mainly focused on surface science including manipulating the metal/oxide interface as well as the intrastructure of the thin film, surface reaction in the self-assembly process of designed functional organic molecules, ultrathin two-dimensional materials, and alloy or interface chemistry. Prof. Xiang Shao has authored or coauthored over 20 papers on peer-reviewed journals, such as Nature Chemistry, J. Am. Chem. Soc., Angew. Chem. Int. Ed., Adv. Funct. Mater., Phys. Rev. Lett., ACS nano, J. Phys. Chem. C. and so on.
Bo Liu
Professor, Department of Chemistry, USTC
Hundred-Talent Program of The Chinese Academy of Sciences
Prof. Liu’s research is mainly focused on the design, synthesis and application of functional complexes basing on inorganic chemistry, coordination chemistry and crystallography. Recent researches are as follows, chemically stable transition metal polyoxometalate with dye sensitization and synthesis of photoactive functional complexes including Metal-Organic Frameworks used in photocatalysis and photoelectric conversion, chiral Metal-Organic Framework thin films used in separation. Dr. Bo Liu has authored or coauthored over 20 papers on peer-reviewed journals, such as J. Am. Chem. Soc., A ngew. Chem. Int. Ed., Adv. Mater. Nano Lett. and so on.
